Just a quick post here- looks like this eagerly-anticipated Panther Basketball season schedule is set. Many times and a few dates are not yet finalized, but these are the games we will play.
Pretty impressive if you ask me- no D-II teams, nice early test in the Portland tournament with UC Davis, Portland, and Florida Atlantic, Marquette at home, Wisconsin on the road, the addition of Northern Iowa (at home) and DePaul (in Chicago*), and the ever more challenging Horizon League conference slate.
'Figures to be a fun ride if we can string together a nice resume of wins. Thankfully the NFL (GO PACK!) and college football (GO CATS!) teams will be playing soon to make the wait for Panther Hoops a little more bearable.
Here is the tentative schedule, just posted on the AD's website today:
*Last time we played in the All State Arena (where DePaul plays) was our 2005 Sweet 16 loss to Illinois... Oh the memories. How was that already more than 5 years ago?!! Let's get a win in that building this time around, eh?
For the nostalgic among us, here is a great site to watch past NCAA Tourney games right on your computer. The Milwaukee Sweet 16 game (best first 5 minutes of a college hoops game I have yet to see) is in "the vault":
