Milwaukee battles to OT, defeats Youngstown State, 75-73

Milwaukee is now in 3rd place and rising... 'just gotta keep racking Ws..

Panthers got out to a big lead, held on to it- and almost let it slip at the end.

Thank goodness for the times like last night when those 50/50's bounce our way. 👏

Milwaukee persevered after leading by double digits for most of the 1st half and then falling down by as many as 6 late to earn victory #10 on the season.

This win evens our overall record at 10-10 (5-3 in conference). More importantly, we are now in sole possession of 3rd place in the Horizon behind just Wright State and Northern Kentucky, the latter whom we get a crack at in the Panther Arena next weekend.

This is not the game but a cool photo, no? I swear I can see Bilbo Baggins in the background.. 😉

Youngstown had 3 starters score in double figures (D. Cathcart III (19pts) D. Quisenberry (17pts) N. Bohannon (17pts)) but it was not enough to hold of the relentless Panther attack.

Milwaukee distributed the rock well and despite the choppiness of the game, there were some great performances tonight. Most notable were DeAndre Abram's (19pts, 13rbs) and Josh Thomas' (15pts, 11rbs) double-double nights. Incredible contributions- especially on the boards.

We beat the Penguins in the offensive rebounding battle 16-12; our post play does seem to be getting better or adapting to a state where we get the rebounds, box-outs and second chances we need to run strategic, effective offensive and defensive schemes.

The shooting lines last night (miserable for both teams, it was an ugly game):

41.6% 15.8% 50.0%
43.8% 22.7% 46.2%

This marks back-to-back victories as Milwaukee aims to make it 3-in-a-row when we continue this road trip at the Wolstein Center in Cleveland, Ohio to play the CSU Vikings.

Have we finally found our step?

Might be.

GO MILWAUKEE!!!!
BEAT CLEVELAND STATE!!
