1 up 1 Down: Milwaukee defeats IUPUI in HLT 1st Rd.

Your Milwaukee Panthers showed more than enough determination and consistently good play to emerge victorious from the first of up to 4 battles that lie ahead in this, the '20-'21 Horizon League Tournament.

Milwaukee protected home turf (the KC- we'll be back at the Arena in November) in the 1st Round by besting IUPUI in a convincingly way, 84-72. Of our starters, only CBJ did not reach double figures (he did have 6pts, 5rbs) and Te'Jon (22) and Dre both scored 20.

IUPUI had their moments with Burke and Minnet, but ultimately Milwaukee battled more on the boards and was a lot faster in moving the ball around that we're accustomed to seeing. The fact that IUPUI is the #9 seed in this tournament was probably more than anything else the reason for our relatively impressive showing.

But nevertheless, momentum has to start somewhere. This could be the start of something, no?

go panthers.
