Milwaukee brushes aside Boston U in a walk

Milwaukee won this one with significantly less effort than last night's thriller over UC Davis, 67-46

Your Milwaukee Panthers (4-3, 0-0) went up 9-0 early on the Boston University Terriers (4-3, 0-0) and stayed ahead. Way, way ahead. (we were up by 23 at one point in the second half). We won 67-46 in a game that could have been more of a blowout, but Coach Lundy got a lot of playing time for non regular rotation guys and that will pay dividends.

This was kind of a big win. For context, consider that Boston U was pre-season ranked 2nd in the Patriot League. Milwaukee on the other side of the coin, was picked to finish 9th out of 11 teams.

BJ Freeman's shot (5pts, 7reb) was true early today and seemed to set the tone for what would become a rout of a victory. This one was never close at all.

Boston U isn't terrible but they definitely had a horrific day shooting the basketball. Boston U could not have shot worse in this one 25.9% from the field on 15-58 shots. Milwaukee distributed points well and improved free throw shooting (77.3% from FT) and turnovers (13 vs 20 against UC Davis).

Ahmad Rand, VBJ and Markeith Browning provided Panther fans with several highlight reel dunks as the Panthers padded their game-long lead and ground down the Boston Terrier defense to bits of battered dust. At no time was the game in question because no matter who got in the game, the Panthers didn't let up.

Milwaukee now has a chance to improve to 5-3 overall and go 3-0 in this "CCC" MTE

Rand (12pts, 2blk), Pullian (10pts, 3reb) and Browning (11pts, 4reb) scored in double figures and everybody on the Milwaukee bench got minutes and good game action.

The few noticeable chinks in our armor are being worked on as we've already seen in recent improvements in FT shooting and a steady decline in turnovers that can hopefully continue into the single digits where it needs to be.

This is a deep team, but more importantly for the casual fan which Milwaukee needs more of- it is an exciting team putting an exciting, winning brand of basketball on display.

Be at the K or tune in tomorrow as the Panthers try to make it a sweep in this Cream City Classic as we face off against the Southeast Missouri Redhawks at 3pm CST tomorrow afternoon.
