After a disappointing showing at Wofford (lost, 86-76 but could've been much worse) which saw this still-gelling Panther team fall behind early and never recover much other than to lessen the Wofford lead, Milwaukee (2-1, 0-0) cleaned up its act and got the win, 92-72, over Arkansas-Little Rock Monday night at Panther Arena.
It was a bonafide three-point party. Amar Aguillard showed Milwaukee fans why he was a scoring machine at Fresno State. Aguillard poured in 25 points (21 in the first half) and finished 6-10 from 3pt. Hubbard was 4-7 from 3pt en route to 18 points scored. Esyah Pippa-White canned 3 triples on 5 attempts.
We played a well-rounded, great game of basketball.
11 turnovers (just 1 in the second half). We outrebounded the Trojans 32-26. We shot 46.7% as a team from 3pt on 30 attempts (the number of attempts Coach Lundy aims to shoot each game) and 18-23 (78.3%) from the charity stripe. You can't ask for a much better box score.
And so, the non-con portion of this '25-'26 season moves on, and a non-con road trip challenge of the highest order is set to begin.
This Wednesday at Indiana. This Friday at Texas Tech. The following Saturday at Wichita State. 👀
If the Panthers can pull off a road upset in any of these contests it'll be monumental; regardless, the experience against high major competition alone should pay dividends in our Horizon League play.
Tune in and let's hope we can avoid a road sweep. There is a good chance that one or all of these teams is looking way past Milwaukee on their schedule.
go panthers.
tilt the floor. 🏆🏀
