Mid-season social media reactions

Just a recap of some of the notable conversations about the Panthers up to this sort of mid-point in the '25-'26 season.

We entered the season with high expectations

Early tests against Indiana, Texas Tech, Wichita State and Wisconsin have battle-tested this Milwaukee team

Seth Hubbard was the offensive story of the early season, but a shoulder injury now has him (along with Lovelace Jr.) out for the season

Perfect response by Lundy about scheduling the in-state P5s, esp. the importance for state fans and general sentiment toward the 4 programs

Gannett Media apparently decided it needed to be a syndicated message that UW finally has some 'respect' for UWM 🙃

One of my favorite Panther-related sports tweets of 2025; we need more bold Panther takes like this

The 1980s TV show "Too Close for Comfort" apparently featured at least one episode with a Panthers sweatshirt

And so, despite having lost Lovelace Jr. and Hubbard for the season and Stevie Elam for the past month, and Faizon Fields for potentially a few games at least, this Milwaukee Panthers season rolls on. What might we expect in the second half? The players who have been elevated in place of the injured (Dorceus, Konneh, Dixon, Franklin along with Mackenzie, Murchison and Chandler Jackson to a lesser but still-impactful extent) have done an incredible job so far and may only get better as the season moves on.

Let's hope the injuries for this season are behind us and that the much stronger non-con schedule sharpened this Panther squad top to bottom.

It's very subjective (no stats to back this up) but I do feel that if the team stays as vocally and outwardly supportive of each other (evident by the entire bench cheering and being engaged with their teammates and coaches the entire game), they will go far and will finally win the HLT and we will finally get back to March Madness. Chemistry and character and a sort of "fearless positivity" matter so much.

Lotta weight behind that "if", though...

One game at a time.

go panthers.

press on. 🏆🏀
