Milwaukee played a bit like garbage against Robert Morris earlier this week Thursday. Outside of our 3pt shooting (41%) not much was working well and we got outhustled in the paint to the tune of 15 fewer rebounds as the Colonials easily won the game, 88-76.
But the Panthers bounced back in a big way today, staying close with Youngstown State all game and then inexplicably turning it on in the final minutes with a Chandler Jackson three and a Stevie Elam layup to secure a thrilling closing-seconds 65-64 victory and finally get this team back in the winning column.
The win today marked the fewest points allowed by the Panthers' defense this season.
The Panthers (9-13, 5-6) head back to Milwaukee for a 3-game homestand. The team will face Wright State on January 30th followed by Cleveland State (2/1) and Detroit Mercy (2/4).
Maybe today is the spark that'll help get this team to play at the highest level possible given the limited resources. We could still make a run the in the HLT (see the '16-'17 season...).
At this point, all we Panther fans can hope for is to compete in each remaining contest and to prepare the players who might be returning to the team for the '26-'27 campaign.
go panthers.
press on. 🏆🏀
