Maybe it's not "giving PBJ flashbacks" to others but... Amare Hereford is a huge pickup for Milwaukee
Dude can play. Lefty with a sweet shot and handles. Mr. Basketball Wisconsin finalist. '25-'26 All-State team. Averaged 39ppg as a senior 👀. High character that can't be measured. Hungry and a high potential but modest. 3.7 GPA and by all accounts just a good person- student, mentor and leader.

Bart Lundy and staff got a great one here. Time will tell if I'm just biased toward Beloit, my hometown... But I'm very confident (esp. after watching a lot of video- he can shoot! he can create his own shot! did I mention that he can shoot! 😎).
Yes, Gard or Shaka could try to rain on this parade just for fun (and then exile Hereford to their bench), but I'm confident Hereford is a Panther and will remain so for at least his freshman season. Where else can you play 1hr from your family and play a ton as a freshman in a conference that is virtually wide open for March Madness Dancing every season?
Hereford will compete with Dorceus, Pippa-White for minutes at the PG spot
I know it sounds crazy but other than Elam (and Hubbard, a bit- though his performance as a Panther gets an "incomplete" as he got injured after just 9 games) I'm not too down on the recent decommits and personnel developments.
If we can't find someone to recruit or have existing coaches put on their recruiting shoes, then we might as well just call it. Serious programs make serious moves. I think the people who need to, will step up to the plate, make the texts/DMs and calls and visits, and build a team for '26-'27 that will be capable of winning the HLT.
Milwaukee came out ahead of some quality MM programs for this commit

The current roster with a few more additions would/will probably win a lot of Horizon League games. Remember earlier this past season when we thought all the freshman/Juco newbies-to-DI who had to replace the injured would fall flat on their face and then... they (most definitely) didn't?
The future has some flickers of greatness starting to kindle🔥.
